As a child, I could think of no words more dreaded than, “Time to get back to work.” Thirty-minute breaks every four hours for tough farm labor just weren’t enough to satisfy a free spirit bent on exploring the world.
But as an adult, those same words conjure up possibilities way beyond this world,
especially if God Almighty has placed within you a calling that just can’t be satisfied.
Becoming the hands and feet of Jesus is never finished. “Work, for the night is coming when no man can work.” John 9:4.
It’s time for us to get back to work, as ministers of God, joining forces with those who know beyond any doubt that Jesus changes lives because Jesus changes hearts. As the darkness thickens in our nation and around the world, may we ever be reminded that He called us to simply reflect His glorious light, which penetrates any barrier meant to keep Him out!
Lord, as we look ahead at this new year that has dawned, give us wisdom and Your compass to help others navigate a path to You! In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
