Egg hunts are fun. They are familiar. And in many communities, they have worked well for years. But more and more leaders and volunteers are asking a deeper question as Easter approaches: is there another way to engage families at Easter that keeps the message clear and central? That question led to Power Up, an outside-the-box Easter outreach idea for churches who want something different without starting from scratch.

Kids know Mario never gives up on rescuing Princess Peach. This Easter lesson uses that theme to help them understand Jesus' rescue mission for them. Federal law protects the right of religious groups to meet on public school property during non-instructional time if the school allows other outside groups to meet. If a school allows clubs like chess, robotics, or tutoring after school, it cannot single out a Bible club just because it is religious. This protection prevents discrimination based on viewpoint. The school does not have to agree with what is being taught. It simply has to allow equal access.

If it's of God, it can't be stopped; if it's not of God, you can't make it happen.
